COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M continues its two-game road trip Sunday as the Aggies travel to Tuscaloosa for a 6 p.m. Central match against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Maroon and White look to rebound from Thursday night's 2-0 loss at Vanderbilt. In Texas A&M's first-ever loss to the Commodores, the Aggies were playing without four starters and All-American Mikaela Harvey was limited to one half of play with the injury bug running through the ranks. The defeat snapped a six-match win streak which included five shutouts.
Junior Haley Pounds is tied for seventh in the league with 14 points. She also ranks ninth in both goals (five) and assists (four). Senior goalkeeper Danielle Rice leads the SEC in shutouts (five) and ranks second in goals-against average (0.60) and third in save percentage (.812).
The Aggies own a 5-1-0 advantage in the all-time series against Alabama. Since joining the SEC in 2012, the Maroon and White have won all three meetings by a combined tally of 12-0. Texas A&M won the initial SEC meeting in 2012, 5-0, at Ellis Field led by Shea Groom with two goals. In 2013, the Aggies registered a 3-0 victory in Tuscaloosa paced by Groom with two goals again. Last season, Ally Watts and Emily Bates notched two goals apiece in a 4-0 victory at Ellis Field.
Sunday's match will be available digitally on mobile devices and connect-TVs for SEC Network subscribers whose cable/satellite packages allow access to SEC Network+ through the WatchESPN app and SECSports.com.
