COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies look for their fifth consecutive victory when they host the Alabama Crimson Tide in a 7:05 p.m. match at Ellis Field.
Thursday night is Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night at Ellis Field. Texas A&M faculty and staff may purchase tickets at a special rate of $3 at www.12thMan.com/facstaff.
The first 200 students will receive free Texas A&M tumblers and fans will have chances to win Texas A&M, Whataburger, McDonald's and more. Every time Aggie Soccer shuts out their opponent fans will receive a FREE Pepsi Zero as they exit the stadium.
The Aggies enter action in third place in the SEC standings with nine points (3-1-0). They trail first-place South Carolina (12 pts - 4-0-0) and Vanderbilt (10 pt - 3-0-1). Texas A&M's forwards have been finding the goal in recent matches with Haley Pounds and Ally Watt each logging three goals in the last three matches. The Aggies boast back-to-back SEC Offensive Player of the Week honorees with Cienna Arrieta earning the accolade two weeks ago and Watt picking it up on Monday.
Pounds is Texas A&M's leading scorer with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Watt has added 10 points on four goals and two assists and Arrieta has nine points on three goals and three assists.
Cosette Morché has logged all 1,014 minutes in goal for Texas A&M with a 0.80 goals-against average and four shutouts.
The Crimson Tide are playing their fourth Top 25 opponent in the last six matches and their fifth of the year. Alabama enters the fray with an 8-4-1 overall mark and a 0-3-1 record in SEC play. The Tide started the season 7-1-0 but have gone 1-3-1 in their last five matches. Thus far, the feather in the cap for the Crimson Tide is a 1-0 win over then-No. 6 Florida State at the end of August.
