COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 10 Texas A&M Aggies host the Butler Bulldogs for their annual 'Turn It Gold' Game Friday with a 7:05 pm first kick at Ellis Field.
Fans will gain admittance for just $3 at the gate if they wear gold to the game in support of childhood cancer awareness and the Texas Children's Hospital Cancer Center for hurricane relief. Free admission is also being granted to cancer survivors, those effected by cancer and family members. For information contact the marketing office at 12thmanmarketing@athletics.tamu.edu.
At the game, fans may purchase Texas A&M Soccer "Turn It Gold" t-shirts provided by the Turn It Gold Foundation. The first 500 fans will receive limited edition Texas A&M Soccer "Turn It Gold" 12th Man towels.
With three shutouts in the first four matches, the Aggies are looking to start the year with four in the first five games for just the second time in school annals, joining the 2015 squad. Cosette Morché has earned all three shutout in goal for the Maroon & White and owns a 0.47 goals-against average.
Freshman Jimena Lopez leads the squad with two goals on the year. Mikaela Harvey, Stephanie Malherbe, Haley Pounds and Grace Piper have each chipped in with one goal as the Texas A&M offense is beginning to pick up momentum.
Butler enters the contest on a four-match win streak with shutout victories against Michigan State (1-0), Bowling Green (2-0), Eastern Michigan (1-0) and Cleveland State (1-0). The Bulldogs opened the season with a 0-0 draw against then-No. 18 Notre Dame and lost a 1-0 decision to Ohio in the second game of the year. Butler ranks sixth in the NCAA with a .964 save percentage.
Friday's match will be available digitally on mobile devices, computers and connect-TVs for SEC Network subscribers whose cable/satellite packages allow access to SEC Network+ through the WatchESPN app and SECSports.com. David Ellis (play-by-play) and Kristi Leonard (color) will handle the call. Audio for the match will be streamed worldwide on 12thMan.com/Listen.
