Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At Dr. Donnis Thompson Invite

KANE'OHE, Hawai'i- Senior Maddie Szeryk closed play with a 1-under 71 to clinch second place individually, and lead Texas A&M's women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
The Aggies shot a final-round 303 (+15) on the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course to finish the tournament with a 923 (+59). It marks the Aggies' sixth Top 5 finish in eight events this season. No. 6 Texas won the event with a 19-over 883.
Szeryk's 71 on the par 72 / 6,096 yard course moved her score to 217 (+1) for the tournament, alone in second place and four strokes behind winner Kaitlyn Papp of Texas (213/-3). Sophomore Courtney Dow shot a 4-over 76 on Tuesday to finish tied for 14th with a 229 (+13).
Freshman Amber Park shot a 5-over 77 to finish tied for 39th with a 239 (+23). Junior Chloe Velasco carded a 7-over 79 to bring her 54-hole total to 240 (+24), tying for 44th. Freshman Elizabeth Caldarelli rounded out the A&M lineup with a 12-over 84, finishing in a tie for 64th with a 256 (+40). Competing as an individual, freshman Ariana Saenz shot a 10-over 82 to tie for 56th at 248 (+32).
The Aggies return to action March 22-24 at the Clemson Invitational.
