No. 2 Aggies Face No. 8 South Carolina in Home Opener

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 2 Texas A&M Equestrian team hosts No. 8 South Carolina in its home opener at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
Fans are encouraged to contribute to Aggies CAN by bringing canned goods to the meet, benefiting the Brazos Valley Food Bank and the 12th Can. Fans who donate get a coupon for free Whataburger, while supplies last. Fans can also donate by texting AggiesCAN to the number 313131.
The Aggies (2-1, SEC 1-0) are coming off a 10-8 upset victory at then-No. 2 Georgia on Oct 25. Against the Bulldogs, Grace Boston (Fences) and Caroline Dance (Flat) swept Most Outstanding (MOP) honors in the Jumping Seat arena as Lisa Bricker was named MOP in Reining.
Dance, along with teammate Ashley Davidson, were named National Collegiate Equestrian Association October Riders of the Month. Dance closed out October with a 2-0-1 ledger in Flat as Davidson was a perfect 3-0 with a MOP.
The Gamecocks (1-2, 0-2 SEC) are coming off a 14-6 defeat at No. 1 Auburn on Oct. 25. South Carolina opened the season with an 11-8 victory over Fresno State before back-to-back losses to Georgia and the Tigers.
Texas A&M holds a 15-7 advantage all-time and has won the last nine meets dating back to 2016. The two teams squared off three times last season with the Aggies winning at South Carolina, 9-8, and at home, 13-6, in the regular season followed by a 10-6 win in the quarterfinals of the NCEA Championships.
