Texas A&M Hosts Texas State In Match Play At Miramont

BRYAN- Texas A&M's women's golf team hosts Texas State Saturday, March 2 in a match-play event at Miramont Country Club. The first match tees off at 10 a.m.
Each school competes in a total of seven matches, victory going to the team that wins at least four. Every individual match will be played to a winner, even if it requires extra holes.
Both teams set their lineups according to 2018-19 scoring averages, and each paring features two matches being played simultaneously to make the event more fan-friendly.
Texas A&M's Chloe Velasco faces Sachika Singh of Texas State in the first match at 10 a.m. Velasco is 2-0 in match play this season, winning the consolation final at the East & West Match Play Challenge in September.
A&M's Elizabeth Caldarelli takes on Caitlyn Lindell of Texas State and Ava Schweinteck faces the Bobcats' Sean Yi Yip in the 10:10 a.m. tee time. A pair of Aggie freshmen highlight the 10:20 a.m. group, as Katie Finley, off of her best finish of the season, takes on Geraldine Wong and Brooke Tyree matches up against Sasikarn Somboonsup.
In the final group, Texas A&M's Courtney Dow, who also went 2-0 at the East & West Match Play Challenge, faces Sarah White and A&M's Amber Park faces Anne-Charlotte Mora.
The Aggies are coming off of their best finish of the 2018-19 season, tying for fifth at the Icon Invitational in The Woodlands. Finley and Park tied for 19th to lead A&M individuals.
