COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 11 Texas A&M women's tennis team travels to take on Missouri Friday at the Mizzou Tennis Complex at 5 p.m. (CT). The Aggies (16-3, 4-2) are looking to win their third straight match this season as they face off against the Tigers (11-6, 0-5) in the Show Me State.
"One thing I know for sure is every team has to come out and be ready to go no matter if you are at home and especially if you are on the road in our conference," Texas A&M women's tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. "We need to come out playing like the confident team that we are and continue competing at the highest level from beginning to the end on every single court."
Last weekend, the Aggies defeated No. 4 Vanderbilt, 4-2, Friday evening and followed up with a victory over then-No. 21 Kentucky, 4-1, on Sunday. The Aggies were spurred to victory behind the impressive play from No. 50 Katya Townsend, for her efforts last week she was tabbed as the SEC Player of the Week after earning the highest ranked win by a freshman in program history.
A&M has posted an astonishing 79-19 singles record and 31-11 doubles mark in dual matches this spring. Following the match up against the Tigers, the Aggies oppose the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday.
