Aggies and Crimson Tide Face Off in SEC Tournament Final

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Texas A&M men's basketball team seeks its first conference tournament title in more than 35 years when the second-seeded Aggies face the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide in the final of the SEC Tournament at 12 noon on Sunday at Bridgestone Arena.

The Aggies' most recent conference tournament title game victory came at the 1987 SWC Tournament.
2023 marks the first time the Aggies have reached the final of the SEC Tournament in consecutive years.
It is the second time in program history the Aggies have advanced to a conference tournament final in back-to-back years, joining Shelby Metcalf's 1985-86 and 1986-87 teams.
In the lone regular season meeting between the Aggies and Tide, the Maroon & White tallied a hard-fought 67-61 win at Reed Arena on March 4.
The regular season victory was the Aggies' fifth straight in the series with Alabama, and Texas A&M is 3-0 against the Crimson Tide in the Buzz Williams era.
The 2022-23 Aggies are the sixth team in school history to reach the 25-win plateau. It is the third team to reach 25 victories prior to the NCAAs or NIT.
Buzz Williams is the first Texas A&M coach to win 25 or more games in consecutive years (2021-22 and 2022-23).
