BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 11 Texas A&M women's tennis team closes out the SEC regular season as it is set to host No. 14 Auburn on Friday, April 12 and No. 24 Alabama on Sunday, April 14 at the Mitchell Tennis Center with first serves set for 5 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.
"We are looking forward to playing in front of the 12th Man this weekend," head coach Mark Weaver said. "Both Auburn and Alabama are having very good seasons and should make for some great tennis for our fans to come out to enjoy and support us."
The Aggies (18-6, 10-1 SEC) have won 51-straight home matches and are on a six-match win-streak heading into the weekend. The Maroon & White have dominated the doubles scene in SEC play, securing the point in Nine of their 11 matches. The pairings have won 20 of their 27 completed matches in league play and are paced by Sydney Fitch/Nicole Khirin with eight victories.
Texas A&M holds an 11-2 record versus Auburn (14-8, 8-3 SEC), winning the last six matchups, and are 5-0 when playing at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The Aggies took down the Tigers earlier this season at the ITA Indoor Championships with a score of 5-1.
The Maroon & White conclude their weekend versus the Crimson Tide (14-7, 5-6 SEC). A&M is 8-4 against Alabama all-time and a perfect 5-0 when playing on its home court.
