Mar 14, 2025 | Women's Tennis
COLUMBIA – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's team delivered misery to Missouri in Friday's 4-0 victory over the Tigers at the Green Tennis Center.
Texas A&M improved to 15-1 overall. The Maroon & White will end the day as one of just two SEC teams undefeated in league action. The Aggies are 6-0 while either No. 1 Georgia (5-0) or No. 9 LSU (5-0) will join them atop of the SEC standings following their match Friday evening in Baton Rouge.
The Aggies earned the doubles point with triumphs on Courts 1 and 3. Nicole Khirin/Lexington Reed checked in first with a 6-2 win over Lailaa Bashir/Zoe Lazar on No. 3. After Missouri tied doubles play with a 6-2 decision on Court 2, the No. 31 tandem of Mary Stoiana/Lucciana Perez were 6-3 victors over Mary Brumfield/Korina Roso on center court.
With the contest moved indoors, singles play began with action on Courts 1-4.
No. 51 Mia Kupres shook off a loss in doubles play, carving up Lazar on Court 3, 6-0, 6-1. No. 3 Stoiana put Texas A&M on the brink of its seventh consecutive win with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Blumfield on Court 1. No. 15 Khirin clinched the match with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 win over Inah Canete on Court 2.
Play was halted with No. 57 Perez holding a 4-6, 6-4, 2-1 lead over Roso on Court 4. No. 62 Daria Smetannikov and Reed were early in their first sets, both holding the upper hand.
Missouri dropped to 10-6 overall and 1-5 in SEC play. It marked the second consecutive match the Aggies had moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Texas A&M heads to Nashville for a top 20 match Sunday against the No. 16 Vanderbilt Commodores. Play at Currey Tennis Center commences at 1 p.m.

On the match...
"Overall we performed quite well. It's always tough playing on four quick indoor tennis courts. We handled the situation quite well. Missouri came out and challenged us in a certain few positions and we handled it all quite well. I'll take a 4-0 win any time on the road in SEC play."
