Women’s Basketball Drops Contest to No. 6 LSU

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team fell to the No. 6 ranked LSU Tigers, 98-54, Thursday night inside Reed Arena.
The Aggies (8-7, 1-5 SEC) were led by Ny'Ceara Pryor who stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals and Fatmata Janneh who led Texas A&M in scoring with 14 points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
The Maroon & White came out physical on both ends of the ball trailing LSU 9-8 in the first 5:18 of the game but the Tigers (18-2, 4-2 SEC) would go on a 12-3 run to take a 21-12 advantage to close out the opening quarter.
Janneh led the way for the Aggies in the first half with nine points, shooting 4-for-6 from the field and grabbing four rebounds. Pryor chimed in with six points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. However, the Aggies faced a 41-22 deficit heading into the half.
The Aggies were able to cut the lead down to 19 at 45-26 with 8:38 left in the third quarter, but LSU pulled away, taking a 78-41 advantage at the last break.
The Maroon & White hit the road for their next matchup Sunday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. against the Missouri Tigers.
