Texas A&M women's basketball opens its 2016-17 season by hosting Central Arkansas, a team that went 28-4 and reached the NCAA Tournament last season, at Reed Arena on Sunday, November 13 at 6 p.m. It is the Aggies' Veterans Appreciation Game.
The game is broadcast on SEC Network Plus, with Steve Miller and Tap Bentz on the call. Authenticated subscribers can access the game exclusively on WatchESPN and the ESPN app through their computers, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs. Tom Turbiville and Bret Dark bring the game to listeners on KWBC 1550 AM, and on 12thMan.com.
Veterans can take advantage of a special offer for $3 tickets at the door on Sunday. In additions, fans possessing a ticket to the Aggies' volleyball match against Georgia on Sunday afternoon receive a general admission ticket to the women's basketball game. The first 100 fans through the gates Sunday receive a mini American flag.
The Aggies, ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll, are coming off of an exhibition win over Oklahoma City, where all five Aggie starters scored in double digits. Texas A&M is 29-13 in season openers and 38-4 in home openers all-time entering this season.The Aggies went 22-10 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16.
The Sugar Bears return four starters from last season's Southland Conference Tournament Champion squad. Central Arkansas won 71-39 against Hendrix College on Friday in their season opener.
After this game, the Aggies host former conference foe Texas Tech on Thursday, November 17 at 7 p.m. on SEC Network Plus.
