Nov 02, 2017 | Equestrian
COLLEGE STATION – The second-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team hosts No. 3 Auburn in the final home meet of the fall on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Admission to the meet is free.
"We are excited to close out our home portion of the fall schedule against another very good team," head coach Tana McKay said. "We competed well against a tough TCU team last week and we have had some good practices this week. As we get closer to the midway point of our season, our goal is to improve each week and I think we have done that."
The Aggies (5-1, 1-1 SEC) are coming off a 16-3 victory against then-No. 7 TCU, in which the Maroon & White won all four events and swept MOP honors. Rachael Hake earned MOP honors in both Fences and Flat, and set the school record for the highest score in Flat with a 96.
In Horsemanship, Bailey Cook was named MOP following a 76-73 victory over Laska Anderson and Haley Franc took home the MOP award in Reining with a 70-68.5 win against Tessa Lindberg.
Auburn enters Friday's contest with a 2-0 ledger with wins over UT-Martin and Baylor. Last time out, the Tigers topped the Bears, 15-4.
