Match Day Preview: SEC Final vs. Arkansas

ORANGE BEACH, Alabama - The No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies play in their fourth title match in their six trips to the SEC Tournament when they battle the Arkansas Razorbacks Sunday afternoon (2:05 p.m.) at Orange Beach Sportsplex.
The Maroon & White advanced to the championship match with a nail-biting, 2-1, overtime win against No. 17 Florida Thursday evening. The game-winning tally came on an own goal in the 97th minute. The match also featured the first career goal by Rheagen Smith who scored on her birthday. The win was the 12th in a row for Texas A&M, one shy of the longest win streak in school history, as the Aggies improved to 16-2-1 on the season.
Sunday's match will air on the SEC Network with Jenn Hildreth handling the play-by-play, Heather Mitts providing the analysis and Jill Loyden reporting from the sideline. The match will also be available digitally on mobile devices, computers and connect-TVs for SEC Network subscribers whose cable/satellite packages allow access to SEC Network+ through the WatchESPN app and SECSports.com. A win Sunday would give the Aggies a 13-game win streak, equaling the longest win streak in school history. The overall school record is 13 consecutive wins encompassing the last 10 games of the 1994 season and the first three games of the 1995 campaign. Texas A&M won 11 consecutive games in 2001 and strung together 10-game win streaks in 1995, 2006 and 2007.
Texas A&M has been dominant in the second half and overtime of matches this season, outscoring opponents 26-6 after halftime. The margin includes 23-6 in the second half and 3-0 in overtime periods.
The Aggies have fared well in tightly contest matches in 2017, going 10-1-1 (.875) in matches decided by one goal or less. This year A&M has posted one-goal wins over Pepperdine (1-0, ot), Florida (2-1), Arkansas (2-1), Utah Valley (1-0), Georgia (2-1, 2ot), Ole Miss (1-0), LSU (1-0), Vanderbilt (2-1), Mississippi State (2-1) and again against Florida (2-1). They played Oklahoma State to a 2-2 draw and suffered a 1-0 loss at Auburn.
