The Aggies host the annual Turn It Gold Match
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team kicks off the home portion of its SEC slate when the Maroon & White host the Oklahoma Sooners for Sunday's Turn It Gold match to raise money in the fight against juvenile cancer. Match time at Ellis Field is 2 p.m.
Sydney Becerra leads the Aggies with seven points on three goals and one assist. Margo Matula, MaKhiya McDonald, Mia Pante and Taylor Pounds each have five points with two goals and one assist. Texas A&M boasts 10 different goal scorers and 15 players with assists.
Texas A&M has six shutouts through nine matches, including blank slates by three different netminders. In the SEC opener, Sydney Fuller recorded her third shutout of the season. She owns a 0.80 goals against average in her five starts. Grace McClellan has two shutouts and Maysen Veronda recorded a 5-0 win against Lamar in the opener before a season-ending injury.
The Aggies boast a 17-2-0 edge in the all-time series against the Sooners, but the advantage is just 3-2-0 in the five meetings since 2009. Texas A&M leads the series 9-0-0 in home contests against Oklahoma, including a 3-0 win in their final match as Big 12 brethren in 2011 and a 3-1 non-conference victory in 2018. In starting the series with 14 straight wins, Texas A&M outscored Oklahoma 43-7.
With their win at Missouri, the Aggies became the first SEC team and the first Lone Star State team to win 500 games. The Maroon & White are leaps and bounds ahead of the nearest team on both wins charts. Among SEC teams, only Florida (446) has over 400 wins. In the Lone Star State, only SMU (467) has reached the 400 mark.
The Aggies enter play with the SEC's second-best all-time winning percentage in league games at .679, trailing just Florida (.729). The Maroon & White have begun catching teams on the league's all-time conference wins list in just their 13th season as a member. With 79 wins under their belt, the Aggies have already passed 30-year league member Mississippi State (60 SEC).

OU's other loss this season was 1-0 at Oklahoma State in the third match of the season. The Crimson & Cream boast wins over North Texas (1-0), Florida International (2-10), Oral Roberts (4-1), Stetson (7-0), Missouri State (8-0, ULM (3-1) and Tulsa (2-1).

Ella Pappas has a team-high five goals along with one assist for 11 points. Sophia Green also has 11 points on four goals and three assists. Netminder Caroline Duffy owns a 0.80 goals-against average and two shutouts in 791 minutes of action.
