Women’s Hoops Dominates Prairie View A&M, 93-60, to Wrap up Non-Conference Play

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team was led by two double-doubles and five players scoring in double figures to earn a 93-60 victory over Prairie View A&M Sunday inside Reed Arena to wrap up non-conference play.
Fatmata Janneh posted an outstanding 17-point, 19-rebound double-double and Ny'Ceara Pryor also locked in a double-double with 21 points and a season-best 12 assists to go along with seven rebounds and three steals. Salese Blow poured in a season-high 21 points, going 8-of-11 from the field. Jordan Webster (15) and Janae Kent (12) also pitched in double-figure points in the game.
The Aggies (7-2) took over early in the first quarter, going on a 13-3 run through the first 5:51 of the frame. The Maroon & White would expand that cushion to 23-9 after the first 10 minutes behind Janneh who scored seven points and hauled in eight rebounds. Kent also scored seven, going 3-of-5 with one triple. Texas A&M forced the Lady Panthers (2-9) to 3-of-17 from the field for a dismal 17.6% from the field while it shot 52.6%.
Texas A&M got into an even better offensive groove in the second quarter, beginning with Webster who hit two quick triples to make the score 29-11 in favor of the Aggies. With 3:59 remaining in the frame Blow went nuclear, scoring eight straight points with two long range bombs to open the lead to 30, 48-18. The Maroon & White took a 50-24 lead into the locker room after shooting a blistering 62.5% to lock in the best scoring half of the season for the team. Pryor led the offense in the first 20 minutes with 11 points and six assists.
Blow continued to lead the Aggies into the third quarter, scoring 11 points and shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field. The Murphy, Texas, native helped the team amass a 74-37 advantage heading into the fourth. Pryor also dished out five dimes in the period, helping her secure the third double-double of her season before the final frame.
The Maroon & White continued to run away with the game, securing a 93-60 victory to go into the New Year. The Aggies return to the hardwood on New Year's Day at 7 p.m. versus Oklahoma inside Reed Arena to begin conference play.

Fatmata Janneh
- Janneh grabbed 10 defensive rebounds in the first half, outdoing her SEC-best 8.0 defensive boards per game coming into the game. Janneh ended the game hauling 14 on the defensive side of the ball and a season-high 19.
- Recorded her third double-double in a row and 31st in her career with 17 points and 19 rebounds.
- Hauled in the most rebounds for the program since Aaliyah Patty grabbed 19 against Arkansas Feb. 3, 2022.
Ny'Ceara Pryor
- Poured in 11 first half points shooting 4-for-6 from the field.
- Pryor registered her fifth game of the year with five-or-more in three different major statistical categories.
- Pryor locked in her third double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 assists, while grabbing seven rebounds and recording three steals.
