Mar 05, 2025 | Men's Tennis
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 15 Texas A&M men's tennis team opens a two-week homestand with a 6 p.m. match with the Auburn Tigers on Thursday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Aggies (8-5, 2-1 SEC), who also face Florida (March 8), Rice (March 11) and Alabama (March 14) on the homestand, are coming off a thrilling match in Norman on Sunday, where the Aggies defeated the Sooners, 4-3, in a seesaw affair to rebound after losing to the Razorbacks in the first match of the road swing in Fayetteville on Feb. 28.
Sophomore Tiago Pires is on a five-match winning streak and is undefeated in conference play so far. Junior Togan Tokac has been a force for the Aggies, logging a 5-3 record on court 5 all season. Graduate Matthis Ross has yet to drop a match this season and secured the Maroon & White's first point against the Sooners. Newcomer Alan Magadan, a transfer from UTSA, made an immediate impact as he secured his first point as a member of the squad against Oklahoma on court 2.
The Tigers (10-4) are currently 2-2 in SEC play, with both losses being away matches. Auburn has claimed two SEC home wins against Vanderbilt and Georgia.
The two teams met in conference play last season in Auburn's territory, with the Tigers pulling off a 5-2 victory. Senior Luke Casper and Tokac claimed the Aggies two points of the match in singles action.
Fans can watch the matches through the live stream or can follow with live stats.
