Sep 06, 2025 | Soccer
FORT WORTH – The Texas A&M soccer team wraps up the non-conference slate with Sunday's 7 p.m. road match versus the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs at Garvey Rosenthal Stadium.
The Maroon & White enter the fray unbeaten at 3-0-3 while the Horned Frogs picked up their first blemish in Thursday's 1-0 home loss against Northwestern to drop to 4-1-0.
The Aggies' defense has been stout in 2025, yielding just four goals, including just one in the run of play, for a 0.67 goals-against average.
Bella Yakel has played all 540 minutes to lead the Aggies. The starting center back entered the campaign as the most-seasoned Texas A&M player having played 4,132 during her three seasons at Portland. The senior defender has 63 Division I caps on her resume, including 55 starts.
Trinity Buchanan, Leah Diaz and Kaylee Noble share the team lead with eight points apiece. Buchanan and Noble each have three goals and two assists while Diaz has scored two goals to go with a team-high four assists.
Since the Aggies fires up the program in 1993, Texas A&M is 14-3-0 against the Horned Frogs. TCU's three wins came over a span from 2022-24, claiming each contest by one goal, including 1-0 in both '23 and '24. Last year, Texas A&M snapped the Frogs' three-match series win streak with a 2-0 triumph at Ellis Field. MaKhiya McDonald and Mia Pante registered goals for the Maroon & White.
The Aggies outscored TCU 41-4 in the first 13 games of the series. Two of the meetings came in the NCAA Tournament with the Aggies upsetting TCU 1-0 in Fort Worth in 2016 and Texas A&M sinking the Frogs, 2-0, in a 2018 second round game hosted by Tennessee.
Kamydn Fuller leads TCU's offense with nine points on three goals and three assists. Seven Castain has added seven points on three goals and one assist. Kira Ybarra and Olivia Geller have shared time in goal with Ybarra racking up a 1.33 goals-against average in 270 minutes and Geller posting a 1.00 goals-against average in 180 minutes.
