LUBBOCK – Texas A&M track & field's Peter Narumbe broke the 1,000m school record on the final day of the Corky Classic Saturday at Texas Tech's Sport Performance Center.
Setting the momentum for the day on the track was the freshman Narumbe, as he broke the third school record of the weekend, this time in the 1,000m. He crossed the line in 2:19.88 to top the A&M performers list and broke Luca Santorum's record which was also set at the Corky Classic last season. His time is the 17th fastest in NCAA history and ranks third all-time among freshmen.
